Vattenfall and Stadtwerke München (SWM) will commission DanTysk offshore wind farm in the North Sea later this month.
The construction started in February 2013 with the installation of the first foundation pile 70 kilometres west of the island of Sylt, and now the wind farm is connected to the German electricity transmission grid.
The launching ceremony will be held on 30 April 2015 at 10.30 o’clock in “Altona Kaispeicher”.
The commissioning will be attended by German Minister of Economics Sigmar Gabriel, Swedish Minister for Enterprise Mikael Damberg, First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg Olaf Scholz, Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein Torsten Albig, together with Magnus Hall, President and CEO of Vattenfall and Dr. Florian Bieberbach, Chairman of the SWM Board.
With a total capacity of 288MW, the wind farm will be able to produce enough electricity to power around 400,000 homes.
