Zeeland Seaports Sets Up New Supervisory Board

The general meeting of shareholders of NV Zeeland Seaports decided to appoint Roelf H. de Boer and Guillaume Jetten and to reappoint Gerard van Harten to the Supervisory Board of the Zeeland port authority as of 1 January 2015. 

Roelf H. de Boer began his career in shipping at Nedlloyd. After occupying a number of executive positions with various logistics service providers, he became Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Rotterdam in 2002. Later that year, we was appointed Minister of Transport, Public Works and Water Management in the Balkenende I government.

He then went on to serve, among other things, as Supervisory Director at the Port of Rotterdam Authority, President of Deltalinqs and Alderman in Rotterdam with responsibility for the Port, Economy and Environment.

Guillaume Jetten is an independent entrepreneur and investor. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Woonbron Foundation and a member of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Albert Schweitzer Hospital. Mr Jetten worked as CFO at Galapagos NV, SDU Holding BV and Wolters Kluwer Health in the United States. Jetten studied Business Economics and is a chartered accountant.

Gerard van Harten is the ex-Chairman of the Board of Dow Benelux BV. Here, his responsibilities included the global operations of Dow’s Hydrocarbon business and its European operations. Van Harten is currently the figurehead of the Top Sector Chemicals and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Dow Benelux BV.

Supervisory Director Rob Boer will stay on as a member of the Supervisory Board of Zeeland Seaports until September.

Member of the Provincial Executive, Carla Schönknecht, Chair of the so-called Joint Venture of NV Zeeland Seaports, is enthusiastic about the new setup of the Supervisory Board and has expressed her gratitude to the departing members for all they have done for Zeeland Seaports:
