NORCOWE’s Event Becoming Established Arena for Offshore Wind Branch

Science Meets Industry Bergen took place on Tuesday September 9. The event was organized by NORCOWE in collatoration with Bergen Council of Commerce and industry, and took place at Hotel Grand Terminus in the centre of Bergen.

With 80 participants, this event is becoming an established arena for the offshore wind branch. People from the industry and research from Norway, other European countries, USA and Japan were present. The diversity of fields of knowledge and backgrounds made a good starting point for interesting conversations, discussions and sharing of knowledge and experiences.

During the day, there were poster sessions where both researchers and industrial participants took part in presenting their work.

Presentations were held by people representing different branches like Svein Grandum from Innovation Norway, Sam Hawkins from Vattenfall UK, Nenad Keseric from Statoil and Michail Cronopoloulos from NHH. Thomas Bak, Aalborg University, presented NORCOWE reference wind farm, which is under development, while Geir Hovland, University of Agder, and Klaus Høj Henriksen, Cargotech, presented heave compensating solutions.
