Royal Dirkzwager to Monitor Luchterduinen Project

The Offshore & Pilotage Services Group of Dirkzwager has started its contribution to the Luchterduinen Windfarm construction project.

Royal Dirkzwager to Monitor Luchterduinen Project

This project will be executed by Van Oord Offshore Wind Project for the partnership of Eneco and Mitsuibishi and will deliver an offshore wind farm consisting of 43 wind turbines.

Together with its Norwegian technology partner Vissim, Royal Dirkzwager has installed radar, AIS and VHF equipment in IJmuiden and has established a Marine Coordination Center at the shore site in Ijmuiden.

At the Marine Coordination Center all offshore activities of the project are managed and surrounding vessel traffic is monitored by a team of Marine Coordinators.

Royal Dirkzwager’s R(emote) O(ffshore) A(sset) M(onitoring) system at the Marine Control Center in Maassluis was used in the first period of the project to (remotely) monitor the shipping activity around the working area where the first project activities such as rock dumping took place.

This system will also be used during the winter construction stop when the offshore activities are temporarily halted.
