Officials to Discuss Massachusetts’ Offshore Wind

On June 23 and 24, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) and the Clean Energy Center will host officials from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) for two public meeting regarding the commercial offshore renewable wind energy leasing process on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) offshore Massachusetts.

Officials to Discuss Massachusetts' Offshore Wind

The purpose of the meetings is to explain the next steps in BOEM’s commercial leasing process for the Massachusetts Wind Energy Area and provide the public and stakeholders with additional opportunities to provide input.

Additionally, EEA and CEC will provide updates on the findings of a transmission study and next steps in planning and siting as part of the update to the MA Ocean Management Plan.

The public information meetings are:

• Vineyard Haven ‐ Monday , June 23, 5:00‐7:00 p.m.
Location: Katharine Cornell Theatre, 54 Spring Street, Tisbury.

• New Bedford ‐ Tuesday, June 24, 5:00‐7:00 p.m.
Location: New Bedford Whaling Museum, 18 Johnny Cake Hill, New Bedford.
