UK Shadow Energy Minister Visits Seajacks

Seajacks UK hosted the UK Shadow Energy Minister, Julie Elliott, MP at its Great Yarmouth offices today for discussions on the shape of the Labour Party’s Energy Policy and for the Shadow Minister to learn more about one of the region’s leading supply chain companies to the offshore wind sector.

Accompanied by the Leader of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Cllr. Trevor Wainwright, the Shadow Minister toured around Seajacks’ new office and storage facilities, meeting staff and hearing about working in the offshore wind industry.

Blair Ainslie, CEO of Seajacks UK commented: “It is really great that the Shadow Energy Minister came all this way to visit us. We emphasised to her that East Anglia is the leading region for energy production, particularly offshore wind, so that she was able to appreciate the huge growth and jobs benefit that the renewable energy sector brings to places such as East Anglia.”

Julie Elliott, MP, Shadow Energy Minister commented: “I firmly believe that the UK has the potential to be a world leader in clean energy, and in offshore wind in particular.”
