9 Months to Wait

Reception to Mark Signing of Damen-OWS Contract

A reception was held today at the Rotterdam offices of Offshore Wind Services (OWS) to celebrate the signing of the contract to build a new offshore wind support.

The vessel will be the Damen Twin Axe FCS 2610 and will be the 10th vessel in the OWS fleet. As was reported in offshoreWIND.biz news yesterday, the contract was signed in the last days of 2013, but today with everyone, from both the builders and the buyers, who is concerned with this new OWS project was present to raise a glass to celebrate the event.

We will have to wait 9 months before the vessel is ready to be handed over to OWS, but in the meantime the cooperation between the two companies will be working overtime to ensure a very specific vessel to meet the OWS requirements.

Oh yes, we learnt another fact today, Damen FCS2610 build number 33 will have the name Offshore Wielingen.
