Germany Cuxport Takes Advantage of Booming Offshore Wind Industry

Terminal operator Cuxport has taken advantage of the booming offshore wind industry by becoming  a supply base for Regina Baltica, an accommodation vessel working for BARD Group over the last seven months.

A variety of technicians and skilled workers were needed this year for the completion of  the BARD Offshore I wind park’s construction on the high seas. During her tenure, Regina Baltica served as a floating accommodation and equipment base approximately 100 kilometers northwest of Borkum for 190 workers from which they launched their missions to the 80 wind turbines installed there.

“Thanks to the professional support of the Cuxport, Regina Baltica was well prepared for her role as a supply base for the approximately 60 square mile wind farm. Giving the changing weather conditions and the resulting uncertainties, the flexibility of our logistics partner was a great advantage in the successful completion of the construction phase of our wind farm,” said Klaus Klingelhöller, Project Manager Floatel the BARD Group.
