Germany Kiel Hosts Offshore Wind Exhibition

Mayor of Kiel, Peter Todeskino opened an exhibition featuring 14 information panels and a short film on wind power in the North and Baltic Seas.

The wind industry is a growth industry. Besides many planned offshore wind farms in the North and the Baltic Seas, there are a few wind farms that are already commercially generating electricity. The traveling exhibition, “Offshore Fascination – Wind and Sea for New Energy in Urban and Rural Areas”, is presenting technologies and opportunities in the offshore wind industry.

On a total of 14 information panels, interested parties can find information on the wind power in the North and the Baltic Seas. In addition, a short film brings a further insight into the development and operation of offshore wind farms. After holding of the exhibition in the capital of Schleswig-Holstein province, the exhibition will also be held in various other cities till autumn 2014.

The exhibition was organized by the German Foundation for Offshore Wind Energy and funded by the Federal Ministry of Environment.
