Belgium: Elia Looks for Contractors for Land Reclamation Work

Belgium: Elia Looks for Contractors for Land Reclamation Work

Elia System Operator SA is seeking contractors for land reclamation work related to the connection of Belgian offshore wind farms. The contract will be awarded via Elia Asset nv or some other subsidiary of the Elia group.

Under the Belgian Offshore Grid project (BOG), Elia wants to build offshore infrastructures off the Belgian coast in order to connect wind farms in the Belgian North Sea as efficiently as possible.

This involves the establishment of offshore infrastructures from the country’s coast to the offshore wind farms, which includes the possibility of works of reclamation for an artificial island and/or with the possibility of adopting a platform at sea.

The final contracting institution or service could be:  Elia Asset SA and/or Elijah ESO; a company belonging to the Elia group or a new company that will be established by one of the companies of the Elia Group.

The BOG project consists of 2 Offshore High Voltage Station (OHVS ) platforms, 1 submarine interconnection cable and 4 submarine cables to the onshore grid, of which the connection point is the Stevin location near Zeebrugge. One of the OHVS will be integrated in an artificial offshore island, the other OHVS will be installed on a fixed structure.
