Germany: Windreich Welcomes New Offshore Wind Regulations

Germany Windreich Welcomes New Offshore Wind Regulations

The Windreich AG has welcomed the new regulations relating to the offshore wind farm connections.

Balz, CEO of Windreich AG said: “It is good news for renewable energy in Germany that now the Federal Council approved the new rule on the liability issues in offshore wind farms grid connection. The existing provisions improve planning security for investment through equity and debt investors alike in design, construction and grid connection of offshore projects. The first projects of Windreich AG, Global Tech I, MEG 1 and German Bight in the North Sea will be either impossible or at best a small extent affected by this new regulation. The adopted framework and clear commitment of the legislature to offshore wind energy gives security to our future investors.”
