Spain: IREC, XaRmae to Organize Workshop on High Temperature Superconducting Wind Turbines

The Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) and the XaRmae are organizing the workshop “Electrical Machines with High Temperature Superconducting Technology for Wind Power Applications “. The event will take place on Thursday 13 December.

The workshop is an opportunity to analyze the types of superconducting materials that can be used in electrical machines, current superconducting machine projects and the challenges for the application of High Temperature Superconducting materials in high power wind turbines.

During the workshop, leading experts with extensive experience in superconducting materials and machines will be speaking, and an open discussion to define their current status and steps to be followed to develop the next generation High Temperature Superconducting wind turbine will be held.

The workshop is addressed to all people and companies that have experience in high power wind energy and consider High Temperature Superconducting machines as a viable alternative.
