Germany: Windreich, TenneT Reach Agreement on ‘Deutsche Bucht’ OWF Grid Connection

Windreich’s subsidiary, British Wind Energy GmbH, and TenneT TSO GmbH have reached an agreement for a temporary grid connection of the offshore wind farm Deutsche Bucht.

The Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm will be connected to TenneT’s BorWin2 converter station, as a temporary solution, until the originally intended BorWin4 is completed to bring the power ashore from the wind farm. While BorWin4 is still in the tendering phase, BorWin2 is already under construction with a total capacity of 800 MW.

It was also agreed to settle the ongoing legal disputes. With this agreement, Dipl.Wirt.Ing. (FH) Willi Balz, the Chief Executive Officer of Windreich AG, explained that the construction and commissioning of the third Windreich’s offshore wind farm, Deutsche Bucht will be right on scheduled time.

The installation, commissioning and acceptance of the converter stations, preparation for the cables and installation of the AC cable will continue to be the responsibility of TenneT. These arrangements will not be affected by the temporary network connection.
