Germany: Offshore Wind Messe Partners with Windallianz

With the Offshore Wind Messe- und Veranstaltungs GmbH, Bremen, the Windallianz has gained a new partner, which complements the industry network established in October 2011 in an ideal way. The Bremen-based company is the organizer of the Windforce, Germany’s first offshore fair, which had about 260 exhibitors when it was organized for the first time in June 2012.

As of 2012 it is also a biennial international trade fair organized for the offshore wind industry.

The Windallianz was founded in October 2011 by the Deutsche Messe AG, organizer of the leading international wind trade fair at HANNOVER MESSE, and the operator of the Husum Wind, Messe Husum& Congress. The aim is to provide companies in the industry to offer an exhibition platform with international appeal. Other partners of the Windallianz are the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology (IWES).

The Windallianz has set itself the task of strengthening the wind industry through many different activities and projects. These include the initiation of a research project that deals with the manufacturing process of rotor blades and the tender of the Windallianz Award, which was first presented on September19that the international trade fair Husum WindEnergy 2012. In addition, the Windallianz Newsletter is published every Thursday, informing the industry on all major news.

In 2009 HANNOVER MESSE launched the WIND, leading international trade fair for equipment, components and services for the wind energy. The WIND fair is held in the odd years within  the HANNOVER MESSE, thus the next time in April 2013. In even years, the wind industry meets at the Husum Wind, the show that will be held again in 2014, and in the exhibition area at the Renewables Energy trade show in Hanover.
