UK: SeaEnergy PLC Enhances Management Team by Appointing Two Senior Executives

SeaEnergy PLC announces the appointment of two senior executives, to enhance its management team as it implements its energy services strategy.

Mike Comerford (51) has been appointed as Director of Operations and will have responsibility for the operational and technical aspects of SeaEnergy’s businesses, including R2S, which was recently acquired.

As a consultant to SeaEnergy, Mike has over the past three years been instrumental in developing the vessel design, operational procedures, business model, client relations and added-value services for the offshore wind farm O&M service vessel capability.

Mike has previously held leadership roles in a number of consultancy businesses, including as Managing Director of a global consultancy, working with international oil and gas, chemical and utility and transportation companies, and national governments at strategic and ministerial levels.

Mike’s work with Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas and Petrofac in asset integrity assurance and verification, makes him ideally suited to support the development and operational delivery of the three strands of SeaEnergy’s energy services strategy.

Donald Brown (46) has been appointed as Head of Project Delivery to lead the development of SeaEnergy’s consulting business, building on SeaEnergy’s established reputation for thought leadership and innovative problem solving.

On joining SeaEnergy Donald will continue to support Det Norske Veritas’ (“DNV”), on the UK’s Carbon Trust Offshore Wind Accelerator in a major project relating to next generation marine access, transportation and logistics technology.

He also continues to support a leading international operator of offshore wind farms in the implementation of an Asset Integrity Management programme.

As the company progresses its growth strategy of acquisition, consulting and O&M vessels for offshore renewables and oil & gas, Mike and Donald’s range of experience across the whole offshore energy sector will be important in identifying opportunities between the separate strands of its strategy.

Commenting on the appointments, David Sigsworth, Chairman, said:

“We are delighted to have attracted two very high calibre individuals in Mike and Donald, and look forward to working with them to deliver the exciting growth strategy for the business.”

John Aldersey-Williams, Chief Executive added:

“Mike and Donald joining the Company marks an important step for us as we build the consulting business, develop the Visual Asset Management service which we now offer following the recent R2S acquisition, and seek to secure the first work for our offshore wind farm operations and maintenance vessel design.”
