LEP to Lead Humber Marketing Delegation to RenewableUK Conference

The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership is to lead a Humber-wide presence at one of the UK’s largest renewable energy events.

The LEP, together with businesses and local authorities, will be there under the Humber Renewables banner, promoting the area for trade and investment.

Over 5,000 participants are expected at Renewable UK’s 34th Annual Conference and Exhibition, where delegates are encouraged to share ideas, network and do business with some of the leading companies in renewable energy.

The Annual Conference and Exhibition, being held in Glasgow, runs from 30th October to 1st November 2012.

This will be the second exhibition presence the LEP has led with Humber partners, and follows the successful launch of the Humber Renewables brand at the Global Offshore Wind exhibition in June, where the joined up Humber presence was well received by the sector.

The exhibition stand will host representatives from the LEP, the four Humber local authorities and Scarborough Borough Council, along with business members of Team Humber Marine Alliance and the Grimsby Renewables Partnership.

Humber LEP Manager Richard Kendall said:

“This is the second in a series of exhibitions the LEP will be targeting with partners to promote the Humber for investment and supply chain opportunities. The feedback on the first event we did was excellent, so we want to keep up the momentum. We have a fantastic group of organisations supporting this initiative, which helps us to demonstrate the strength of the Humber offer and how well we are all working together to develop this sector around the Humber.”

Team Humber Marine Alliance Director Mark O’Reilly said:

“We are delighted to continue our support of the Humber Renewables initiative which made such an impact at Global Offshore Wind in London. Indeed eight member companies have already signed up for Glasgow as they see the benefits of a collaborative effort to promote our combined capabilities to the industry.”

Grimsby Renewables Partnership Chair Chris Holden said:

“The Grimsby Renewables Partnership are very happy to be exhibiting as part of the region as Humber Renewables. Our members enjoyed the success of the Global Offshore Wind in June and look forward to this event.”
