UK: Atlantic Array May Harm Coastline Natural Beauty, Says AONB

The North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) says that the proposed Atlantic Array offshore wind project will have ‘serious detrimental impact’ on the natural beauty of the coastline.

The proposed project has raised AONB´s concerns over its industrial aspect and its proximity to the shore. According to the partnership the project development would extremely damage ‘the tranquility of some of the wildest coastline in England’.

The North Devon Gazette quotes the AONB saying that the Government has to take in consideration that there are other renewable sources besides wind, such as tidal, which are not damaging the landscape.
