USA: Southeast Holds Offshore Wind Potential

At one of the last sessions at the WINDPOWER 2012, Brian O’ Hara discussed the challenges and opportunities facing offshore wind energy across the globe, writes the Energy Collective.

Due to the fact that Southeast holds 80% of the offshore wind potential in the United States, thanks to the relatively shallow water conditions, and business-friendly climate, makes Southeast ripe for offshore wind development.

Also to add to this positive facts, Southeast has low labor and construction cost and huge electricity demand.
