UK: Over 400 Firms Want to Seize Humber Gateway Opportunities

 

Humber Gateway offshore wind farm developer, E.ON, held a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event with its partners yesterday to determine the services and skills that can be used locally, This is Scunthorpe portal reports.

The event attracted more than 400 firms which wanted to find out how they can benefit from the Humber Gateway opportunities.

The UK’s leading supplier of safety equipment, Arco, was one of the attendants. It has been working closely with companies involved in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of wind turbines, to create items specifically designed for those working within the sector.

“E.on always tries to work with local contractors and resources wherever possible,” said Tim Hadley, E.ON’s engineering manager for the Humber Gateway wind farm.

“We have brought all of our main partners with us to this event and are looking forward to working together with local firms on this project,”he added.

Early construction works on the Humber Gateway offshore wind farm are already in motion, while the whole project is expected to be completed in spring 2015.
