USA: Offshore Wind Backers to Hold Rally in Annapolis

According to the Associated Press, advocates of offshore wind development are to hold a rally, in order to voice their support to the passing of a Bill, aimed at introducing more favourable conditions for development of offshore wind off the coast of Ocean City.

The rally will be held on Monday night, in Annapolis where they will make a circle around the Maryland State House. The activists will be wearing electric blue T-shirts and they will also hold glow-in-the-dark miniature wind turbines in the centre of the circle.

On Friday the House of Delegates passed the measure with 88-47 vote ratio. The measure apart from reducing air pollution is also to have positive effects on minority-owned businesses in the state.

It is now up to Senate Finance Committee to give its opinion on the Bill.
