UK: BMT to Showcase Its Expertise at Oceanology International Conference

BMT Group Ltd, the leading international maritime design, environmental and engineering consultancy, will showcase its portfolio of offshore support services on Stand I120 at the Oceanology International conference taking place in London this month. BMT’s knowledge and expertise provides a fully integrated service to better understand, monitor and quantify the risks of working in the offshore environment.

Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to engage with BMT’s technical experts and discuss the specific challenges they face. Dr Ralph Rayner, Sector Director for Energy and Environment at BMT Group Ltd explains: “Operating further offshore and in more hostile marine environments is becoming ever more prevalent for the renewables and the oil and gas sector. This creates unique challenges, not least with the meteorological and metocean conditions that must be overcome in order to design, install and operate offshore infrastructure. We continue to invest in better understanding the challenges our customers face and most importantly, providing innovative solutions.”

Committed to providing innovative metocean and integrity monitoring solutions, BMT Scientific Marine Services’ experts will be on hand to discuss recent advances, including a sensor assembly and installation tool that permits sensors to be installed subsea using a Remotely-Operated Vehicle (ROV). The company’s President, Tom Johnson will also take to the stage on day two of the conference outlining his thoughts and experience of integrated metocean and structural integrity monitoring on more than forty deepwater floating production platforms.

As an oceanographic and meteorological consultancy, BMT ARGOSS runs operational global and regional oceanographic models and maintains a comprehensive in-house historical database of validated and calibrated metocean data, suitable for use in engineering design and operational planning. The company also has strong capability in port and harbour engineering, specifically in vessel manoeuvrability simulation and mooring design. Experts will be available on the stand to discuss the latest developments in these areas including services to the offshore, wind and tidal energy industries.
