GRP Opens up to Businesses Across North East Lincolnshire (UK)

A Group at the foreground of the offshore wind ambition will open up to businesses across North East Lincolnshire, says Grimsby Telegraph.

Established in 2008, the Grimsby Renewables Partnership is a private/public partnership whose the main aim is to maximize economic benefits that North East Lincolnshire can gain from the development of the offshore renewable energy sector.

The Partnership has delivered a range of activity which has included: marketing the capabilities of the ports of Grimsby and Immingham at a national level, liaising with major players such as Siemens, Centrica and RES, identifying and seeking to resolve infrastructure and other issues and helping to develop and deliver local supply chain solutions.

More than 50 representatives of businesses and organizations attended a meeting, held at The Innovation Centre on Europarc, to discuss the future direction of the group.

The purpose of the meeting was to open up GRP to all the businesses in the area that think they have something to offer to this industry.

Chairman of GRP said that Grimsby has the potential to be the Aberdeen of offshore wind, because of the ideally positioned ports.
