WindGuard Wind Tunnel Hits 100 m/s (Germany)

The research team of Deutsche WindGuard Engineering GmbH has managed to reach flow velocities of 100 m/sec in its wind tunnel.

It allows research with Reynolds numbers of more than 6,000,000.

Dr. Knud Rehfeldt, CEO of German WindGuard Engineering GmbH said that the wind tunnel fulfills all the requirements of the wind energy sector.

The Reynolds number is an important parameter in the transfer of model experiments on real proportions.

The optimization of the wind tunnel in Bremerhaven for the attainment of higher Reynolds numbers was promoted by the Bremerhaven Economic Development Company Ltd (BIS).
