TAG Energy Solutions Secures First Contract (UK)

TAG Energy Solutions has been awarded its first project since the completion of its £20 million tubular production facility.

The Billingham-based company has been awarded a contract to produce a test pile by Wilton Engineering Group, which will be utilised in trial fitting of clamps for DONG Energy’s Siri field in the Danish North Sea.

The project marks the commencement of rolling and welding of large diameter tubulars at the facility, which has been created to serve the offshore energy sectors.

Featuring more than £8 million worth of state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, the 6,920 square metre production facility operates a fully-automated manufacturing system to roll and weld large diameter tubulars used in the construction of offshore wind turbine jacket and monopile foundations.

The facility has the capacity to produce 100,000 Tonnes of tubulars per annum and will focus on supporting developments in the offshore wind sector.

Alex Dawson, Chief Executive of TAG Energy Solutions, said: “This is a key milestone in the development of TAG Energy Solution’s state-of-the-art Renewables facility.

“We are very pleased that one of our closest neighbours has been the first to recognise the capability of the facility and the quality of the workmanship. Whilst this is a small project it is a significant step in the establishment of high quality production manufacturing for TAG ES on the River Tees.”
