The NSKK 6225 will feature a Methanol dual fuel system and a battery pack for hybrid energy storage which, according to NSK, are supposed to reduce emissions by up to 75 per cent.

The vessel will operate in typical offshore wind services and in light construction work, Cecon Contracting said.

NSK noted that Norway`s SpareBank 1 Nord-Norge financed the project.

Cecon Contracting is an offshore contractor based in southern Norway and operating globally. It focuses on project management, engineering, and offshore and subsea installation services to offshore oil and gas industries, renewables industries, and the telecommunications industry.
