G-tec Omalius Leaves for Hornsea Four Geotechnical Work

G-tec’s drill vessel Omalius is on its way towards Ørsted’s Hornsea Four offshore wind project in the UK to carry out geotechnical investigations.

The geotechnical investigations include deep soil and high-quality rock sampling, with the main focus on chalk sampling and offshore and onshore laboratory testing.

Before departing for the UK, Omalius completed its mobilization in Antwerp, Belgium.

Ørsted is developing the Hornsea Four project approximately 65km off Flamborough Head on the Yorkshire Coast.

The wind farm will consist of up to 180 turbines that will be located in an area of up to 600km2.
