FairWind Joins Bladt on Hornsea Two

FairWind has a won a contract by Bladt Industries to install the electrical scope on 135 transition pieces for the Hornsea Two offshore wind project in the UK.

FairWind’s scope of work is full electrical installation, including light study design of cable support system, as well as installing all components and free issued items from the end-client.

Ørsted’s Hornsea Two will comprise 165 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines located 89 km north-east of Grimsby and scheduled to be commissioned in 2022.

Bladt will fabricate the 135 transition pieces in Aalborg, Denmark. EEW Special Pipe Constructions is supplying the remaining 30 and has recently upended the first piece.

EEW will manufacture and deliver the 165 monopile foundations, which DEME Offshore will transport and install with its new DP3 offshore installation vessel Orion at the 1.4 GW project.
