The 252MW Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm located in the German North Sea has achieved full project completion.

Final completion marks the official end of construction and the start of the operational phase of the project.

According to Northland Power, this also signifies that the terms required to satisfy the project lenders for term conversion have been achieved.

Deutsche Bucht’s 31 MHI Vestas V164-8.4MW monopile foundation turbines have been generating power since the end of September 2019.

The project was supposed to also feature two turbines on mono bucket foundations, but earlier this month Northland Power announced it had elected to permanently forego the installation of this demonstrator project.
