Correll Services Strikes Again in Taiwan

Correll Services has secured a contract with Jan De Nul for subsea and land cable termination and testing work on the Changhua offshore wind project in Taiwan.

Correll Services

Correll Services is in charge of providing project documentation, procurement of HV & FO hardware materials, as well as export cable (HV & FO) jointing at the transition joint bays.

Additionally, the company will carry out inter-array cable terminations (HV & FO) on 21 assets and post-installation testing from the onshore substation to offshore assets.

This new contract comes shortly after Correll completed the subsea and land cable termination and testing works at the Formosa 1 Phase 2 offshore wind farm in Taiwan under a contract awarded by Jan De Nul.

“The whole CS team is passionate about the services we provide and it’s immensely gratifying to know that our efforts have been recognised by Jan De Nul Group, with this ‘repeat business’ contract award,” said Sam Dowey, Correll Services Managing Director.

The 109.2MW Changhua project will comprise 21 5.2MW turbines installed on jacket foundations off the coast of Fangyuan in Changhua County, Central Western Taiwan.

In April last year, Jan De Nul and Hitachi Ltd signed the contract for the Changhua wind farm. Jan De Nul is responsible for the foundation design, fabrication and installation, turbine installation, supply and installation of offshore and onshore cables, as well as for upgrading the electrical substation.

Hitachi is in charge of the manufacture, assembly, O&M, and other work related to the 21 turbines.
