This follows the signing of a contract with Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG, under which the EMO is in charge of assessing general risks, such as collision risks, and preventing unauthorised access by non-project related traffic.

The specialist vessel will undertake appropriate measures throughout the installation phase of the offshore wind farm, EMO said.

The 200MW wind farm, located in the German North Sea, will comprise 32 Senvion 6.2M152 wind turbines.

The project is currently in the monopile installation phase, with the first turbine components arriving at the Buss Terminal Eemshaven, chosen by the wind turbine supplier as the storage, pre-assembly and load-out base for the project.

The Trianel Windpark Borkum II is expected to be constructed by autumn 2019 and commissioned by the end of 2019.
