The first steel for the topside of Galloper’s offshore substation was cut in November 2015, when it marked the official start of the project’s construction phase.

HFG has been assigned to fabricate the offshore substation for the 336MW offshore wind farm by Petrofac which, in a consortium with GE, won a GBP 110 million contract to engineer, construct and install onshore and offshore electrical substations for the project.

Meanwhile, the construction at the offshore site is progressing with 28 of the total 56 foundations now installed.

The installation of 56 Siemens 6MW wind turbines is expected to start in the early summer.
