The company will supply the diesel electric main machinery, consisting of frequency controlled electric driven azimuth thrusters, super silent mounted transverse thrusters, DP2 dynamic positioning system, power electrical system, deck machinery, and the latest generation Acon automation and control system.

At the beginning of this month, DONG Energy ordered the second SOV from Østensjø Rederi for its 1.2GW Hornsea Project One wind farm. The 81-metre long vessel will be delivered in the third quarter of 2018.

The order for the first SOV was placed in October 2015, when DONG Energy signed a contract with Østensjø Rederi for the supply of an SOV which will operate at its Race Bank offshore wind farm, starting in 2017.

The SOVs will be built by Astilleros Gondan in Spain.
