RES Recruits Global Asset Management Head from Within

UK-based renewable energy company RES has appointed Steven Hughes to the position of Global Asset Management Director, a post created to accelerate the company’s growth in this area of the business across a range of low carbon technologies.

Hughes’ new role will encompass all of the company’s global asset management activity, where over 100 people manage more than 2GW of plant for a range of owners in six countries.

Having been with RES since 2001, Hughes has worked across different parts of the business from wind turbine technology assessment and contract management, through to procurement and wind energy deployment.

For the past few years, Hughes has focused on growing the UK and Ireland asset management business as new institutional investors entered the market.
