Offshore WIND Conference Kicks Off in Amsterdam

A conference dedicated to the offshore wind industry kicked off today in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Those attending the Offshore WIND Conference (OWC) 2015, held by Dutch company Navingo BV, will get to hear some of the most prominent industry professionals discussing the most important topics in the offshore wind sector. 

The theme of this year’s conference is Building an industry without borders. In the case of offshore wind, this not only refers to geographical borders, but also borders in the minds of decision makers.

Jim Craig, CEO from Ampelmann Operations will discuss the lessons that can be learned from the oil & gas industry. The session will be complemented by Martin Ars, Project Development Manager at Vattenfall, who will layout the first steps to an offshore interconnected grid and Erik Zigterman, Senior Advisor at Royal Haskoning DHV, will point out planning and development areas for offshore energy.

Another new and current topic on Offshore WIND Conference 2015 will be Health and Safety. A breakout session will discuss the human factor in operations. With contributions from Managing Director Dennis Schiricke from Outsmart Asset management, Development Manager Peter Robert from Damen Shipyards and Albert van der Hem, partner at Blix Consultancy BV this session is offering an outstanding lineup. The conference program will be completed by topics as Spatial Planning, Financing and Insurance, (Port) Logistics and Optimizing Stakeholder Cooperation.

Navingo BV will also launch its annual Offshore Energy Exhibition and Conference tomorrow at 9:30. More than 650 exhibiting companies are getting ready for tomorrow’s Offshore Energy 2015 in Amsterdam RAI, which will see two days packed with networking, free to attend Keynotes, technical sessions and much more.
