EnBW Baltic 2 Fully Erected

The EnBW Baltic 2 offshore wind farm has come to the finish line, as the eightieth and last wind turbine was installed yesterday at the construction site in the German Baltic Sea.

On Tuesday, the fortieth turbine was put into operation and has been feeding power into the grid. In the meantime, two more were fully commissioned. The remaining wind turbines will be connected to the grid and put into operation in the next few weeks, EnBW said in a press release.

EnBW Baltic 2 is located 32 kilometers north of the Baltic island of Ruegen. The 80 wind turbines will have a total capacity of 288 megawatts. The offshore wind farm will be able to generate 1,200 gigawatt hours of electricity annually and supply approximately 340,000 households with clean power.
