Deal Signed for 1GW Wave Energy Project in Ghana

On Friday night, Swedish company Seabased and Ghanaian TC Energy signed a contract for the development of a large wave power park in Ghana.

Seabased CEO Billy Johansson and TC Energy’s Executive Chairman Anthony Opoku inked the first deal to install a first smaller plant that will be part of agreements giving a total plant of 1,000 MW. When the whole project becomes operational, 19 million people in Ghana will be partly provided by clean electricity from wave power generated by Swedish technology.

Seabased’s Chairman of the Board Mats Leijon has paved the way for cooperation with Ghana through studies and visits to to the country.
