La Caisse Invests in London Array

One of Canada’s leading financial institutions has joined the international partnership behind London Array.

La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (La Caisse) has taken a 25 per cent share in the offshore wind farm after buying half of DONG Energy’s 50 per cent holding. The other shareholders are E.ON (30 per cent) and Masdar (20 percent).

“London Array has benefited enormously from the skills and resources that its shareholders can offer,” said General Manager Mike O’Hare.

“The addition of La Caisse further adds to the expertise that is backing the project.”

Macky Tall, Senior Vice-President, Infrastructure, at La Caisse, added: “This is an opportunity for us to invest, alongside established partners, in a quality asset in a growth-driven sector. We are investing in this project with a long-term horizon.”
