LNT Commissioning Around the Corner

The high voltage supply at LORC Nacelle Testing has been energized, the main components such as the base adapter are being delivered, and it is now only a little more than a month until commissioning.

LNT Commissioning Around the Corner In April the 33 kV supply from the local substation to the electrical system of the LORC nacelle testing centre was successfully energized. This ensures the power supply for the complex test system, where commissioning of the test facility for wind turbine nacelles with a power output of up to 10 MW will begin in June.

LNT Commissioning Around the Corner (2)The mounting of the hundreds of magnets in the non-drive end of the function tester’s motor with a torque of 12 million Nm at 10 RPM has been finalised and the other half of the magnet mounting has begun. Other main components will soon be delivered, one being the base adapter of the test facility where a piece of the turbine’s tower will be mounted during tests.

LORC signed its first contract with Vestas for testing of the V164-8MW turbine from mid-2014 when construction will be complete.
