LORC Nacelle Testing Nearing Completion

LORC Nacelle Testing Nearing Completion

The high voltage supply for LORC Nacelle Testing is being prepared with the construction of a new local substation ensuring a 33 kV supply for the offshore wind turbine test centre.

Also, the high voltage supply cables have been installed at both ends and the remaining installation in the utility area of the test hall is proceeding on schedule.

The second of the two stators of the large motor with a torque of 12 million Nm at 10 RPM for the 10 MW nacelle testing facility is now in place and the power supply for the complex test system is almost ready. This includes a new 60/33 kV transformer at the local substation as well as breakers, disconnectors and current/voltage transducers.

Check out this video of the 80 tonnes stator installation.
