Siem Moxie to Be Christened Today in Hamburg

A rather unusual vessel, rarely seen in Hamburg’s cruise terminal, the Siem Moxie will be christened at the terimal today.

The Siem Moxie is an offshore infield support (ISV) vessel with an X-Bow design. The vessel was built at the Norwegian Fjellstrand shipyard in Oma.

Designed for specific tasks in wind farms in the North Sea as well as in the Atlantic, the vessel has a length of 74 meters and a beam of 17 meters and it is the first X-BOW vessel equipped with Voith Schneider Propellers. This offshore vessel boasts excellent dynamic positioning characteristics and high availability even under adverse sea and weather conditions.

In addition to wind farm tasks, the Norwegian owner Siem Offshore AS intends to use the Siem Moxie for cable laying operations in the North Sea and in the Atlantic.
