IEA: Europe Could Lose Leading Role in Renewables

IEA Europe Could Loose Leading Role in Renewables

International Energy Agency (IEA) executive director Maria van der Hoeven has warned that Europe could lose its role as a leader in renewable energy.

She will give a keynote speech at the EWEA 2014 Annual Event on 10-13 March, where she will elaborate on this issue.

Van der Hoeven will be joined by Portugal’s Minister of Environment, Territorial Planning and Energy, Jorge Moreira da Silva, who will speak about 2030 renewables targets at the opening session of EWEA 2014.

At the conference, CEOs of leading industry companies such as Alstom Wind, Gamesa, Acciona Energy, ERG Renew, Enel Green Power, EDP Renováveis and Iberdrola will discuss in a panel debate what they are already doing to get back to business.
