The University of Barcelona and Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation organized the second edition of the summer conference “Energy alternatives for a world in crisis”.

The conference was held from 1 to 5 July in the Auditorium of the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation and was attended by Manel Sanmartí, IREC’s Head of Electrical Engineering Area. Mr. Sanmartí gave a lecture on “The offshore wind and micro-wind power: two extremes of wind power”, which dealt with the development of wind energy and in particular, offshore wind energy and micro-wind. During the presentation, he explained the characteristics of each of these technologies, their differences, their specific markets, as well as the regulatory framework.

These seminars are framed in the summer courses “Els Juliols” and intended to promote discussion about current issues surrounding the environment, energy model and the new technologies.
