UK: RWE Completes Consultation for Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm

UK RWE Completes Consultation for Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm

RWE npower renewables have now concluded their consultation on the onshore electrical infrastructure for Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm. Consultation ran from February 19 through to end of April 2013.

Seven public exhibitions were held near the short listed options for the infrastructure locations. Members of the Triton Knoll project team visited local communities to talk directly with local residents and businesses answering questions about what the infrastructure could look like, how we will manage the construction in order to minimise effects to the local area and how we will continue to work with the local communities. In total, almost 900 people came along to find out more.

Jacob Hain, Triton Knoll Project Manager said,

“We would like to thank everybody who took the time to come to our events and take part in our consultation. We have had a great response from members of local communities who have given us valuable information and shared useful local knowledge that we can feed into the design of our onshore electrical infrastructure.

“Local knowledge gathered will be taken into account as we move forward in our designs.

“We are now studying all the responses received from the public. Alongside the in-depth studies and assessments we have carried out to date, we will also be sitting down with experts to come to a conclusion on the site selection.

“Once we have selected the most appropriate site, we will announce the decision explaining why this decision has been made. This information will be made on our website and in a newsletter sent to those local residents and businesses who responded to our consultation.”
