Alstom Launches Construction of Its Plants in Saint-Nazaire, France

Alstom CEO, Patrick Kron, and Alstom Renewable Power President, Jérôme Pécresse, accompanied Prime Minister, Jean-Marc Ayrault, in Saint-Nazaire, when he officially launched construction works of Alstom’s first two offshore wind turbine factories on Monday 21 January.

The Netherlands: Van Oord Wins Luchterduinen Offshore Wind Farm Contract

Van Oord has been awarded the construction of the offshore wind park Luchterduinen. The wind farm will be located 23 kilometres from the Dutch coast between Noordwijk and Zandvoort.

 

Japan to Commence Wind Farm Construction Offshore Fukushima

Japan is planning to begin the construction of the world’s largest wind farm in July, placing it 16 kilometers off the coast of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

 

The Netherlands: Parts for DanTysk Offshore Wind Farm Shipped from Vlissingen

The first four of eight piles for offshore wind turbines were loaded on January 20 in Vlissingen for shipment to offshore wind farm DanTysk located in the North Sea, 70 kilometers west of the island of Sylt on the border between the Germany and Denmark.
