UK: ETS Announces Acquisition and Aberdeen Expansion Plans

Eastern Training Services Ltd, a specialist provider of technical vocational training to the energy, construction engineering and manufacturing industries, has been acquired by businessman Graham Hacon, owner of Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth-based 3sun Group.

Mr Hacon, who has worked in the offshore instrumentation and construction engineering sectors for over 20 years, has also announced his plans to expand the training company to Aberdeen by the end of the year. He is committed to developing technical training to meet increasingly high industry standards on a local, national and international basis.

Talking about the recent acquisition, Graham said: “My industry experience is very closely aligned with that of ETS and I am passionate in supporting training and development, particularly for the flourishing renewables industry.

“Our plans are to consolidate ETS’ position in the East of England with expansion into the north east of Scotland. We are currently looking for a suitable training facility in Aberdeen city and plan to establish a base employing up to four people there by the end of the year.

“The primary focus in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth will undoubtedly be on the energy industry; namely for the provision of offshore technician discipline and training, CCNSG safety passport as well as providing assessors for national Vocational Qualification (NVQ) assessment.

“I am looking forward to continuing to build ETS and further establishing its already excellent reputation, particularly expanding into new international markets and securing increasing levels of business with new and existing customers.”

ETS focuses on assessing and verifying skills, enhancing and upskilling the performance of personnel and assuring clients of a safe and competent workforce. It offers fully qualified specialists across a range of fields in construction engineering and CCNSG short courses, and has been delivering standard and bespoke training courses for over two decades.

James Hall, the new operations manager at ETS, is looking forward to growing the business following this acquisition. “The company has built up a very well established reputation through its breadth of experience, first class service and professional approach. As a company accredited to the ISO 9001 quality standard, we will continue to work to high management standards and strive to continue improving our service offering.

“We focus on strong client relationships, from small businesses to corporate companies, across the whole of the UK. With this acquisition, we hope to continue expanding and working with new customers, whilst continuing to offer the highest quality service to our existing clients.”
