USA: AWS Truepower Updates windNavigator Platform

AWS Truepower, LLC, an international leader in renewable energy consulting and information services, today announced modification to the windNavigator® platform, which provides online wind project development and plant operation optimization solutions.

In order to allow for the expansion of a broader set of renewable energy solutions and to simplify the communication of products and services to a global audience the windNavigator platform will now be referred to as the AWS Truepower Dashboard Suite. Additionally, the names of dashboards, subscriptions, data and reports have been modified to support this effort.

AWS Truepower’s windNavigator platform was first released in May of 2008. The initial vision for the web-based solution was simple: make viewing and purchasing wind resource maps and data available through the Web. “The impetus at that time was both market demand and an internal need to improve efficiencies. Customers were demanding faster response times and loved the ease of use and 24/7 access,” stated Bryon Phelps, Product Manager at AWS Truepower.

Over the course of the next two years AWS Truepower developed several other online tools to support the project development process – from prospecting and preliminary site assessment to meteorological data archiving and reporting. “Our online tools have grown beyond the platform’s early design. With the potential to expand online solutions to other renewable technologies and to simplify our offering to a global audience, now is the right time to make these changes.” stated Anna Caban, Assistant Director of Marketing at AWS Truepower.

The former windNavigator platform, which included unique modules; Site Assessment, Campaign Management and Asset Management have been rebranded as a family of dashboards. The changes, which officially take effect today, reflect a more accurate picture of the product applications and will streamline localization efforts. Available dashboards include:

Wind Site Assessment Dashboard: prospect and conduct preliminary resource and energy assessments online with high-resolution data and custom reports. Wind Site Assessment Dashboard subscription options feature 24/7 access to wind resource maps, customizable reports (compare 200+ turbine models), GIS and time series data for site analyses.

Wind Data Management Dashboard: monitor meteorological tower data for all your project sites in a secure online environment. Our Wind Data Management dashboard is actively supported by our expert team of meteorologists and is included at no additional fee with all meteorological program management contracts.

Wind Performance Management Dashboard: track and assess the potential impacts of wind resource performance on your operational wind plant. Wind Performance Dashboard subscriptions provide you with unique insight into how deviations in wind resources at your project site are impacting your bottom line. Wind and energy anomalies are illustrated in map and graphical format and monthly reports provide a concise analysis for project stakeholders.
