UK: Landfall Location for Dogger Bank Creyke Beck Finalised

The landfall location for Dogger Bank Creyke Beck – the site where electricity cable from the wind farm comes to shore – has been finalised following surveys, research and feedback from stakeholders.

The location – between Barmston and Ulrome – was selected because of the low lying cliffs, relatively low levels of fishing activity, available space and the ability to route around onshore constraints.

Forewind Head of Onshore Development, Mark Thomas said this landfall site also is approximately 2.5km shorter than the northern landfall alternative that was also under consideration, and has one less A-road corssing.

“The selection of the landfall means Forewind can now proceed with finalising the proposed cable route to the onshore converter station, or stations, and continue to engage with all the relevant stakeholders, particularly those directly affected.”
