UK: Public Exhibition for 196 Meter High Wind Turbine

A public exhibition on plans for a wind turbine stretching to 196 meters in height is scheduled to take place tomorrow at Bayview football stadium between 3pm-7pm, reports Fife Today.

Scottish Enterprise is going to submit a planning application to build a single offshore prototype wind turbine at the Fife Energy Park in Methil, for a five-year test period.

The exhibition will offer a range of environmental studies being undertaken, including computer images illustrating the wind turbine, thus it will create an opportunity for finding out more about the development and ask additional questions.

This is a new planning application Scottish Enterprise hopes to register with Fife Council by the end of March. However there is existing consent for a turbine development at the site.

According to an Arcus Renewables spokesman, many companies around the world have showed interest in turbine manufacture and in case of obtaining the application approval Scottish Enterprise can expect to attract a number of them.
