CG Secures Contract for Butendiek Offshore Wind Farm (Germany)

After the realisation of the prestigious Belwind offshore wind farm project, CG attracts major contract for the German Butendiek project

Butendiek is a 288 MW German offshore wind farm project. A total of 80 turbines of the 3.6 MW class will be installed in the German North Sea. The project developer of the Butendiek offshore wind farm is the German WPD group, a worldwide developer and operator of wind farms. WPD has awarded the design, delivery and installation of the high voltage substation platform to the Belgian consortium CG, Fabricom and Iemants. CG will design, engineer and supply the high voltage substation with power transformers, high voltage and medium voltage switchgear as well as the auxiliary reactors and transformers. The substation will connect wind turbines at 33 kV to the 155 kV grid. “CG was chosen as a contractor because of the successful realisation of the Belwind project”, says Raymond Daems (Project Manager Butendiek, CG).
