Tender Invited by Trianel for Offshore Wind Farm Borkum West II Development (Germany)

German Offshore Wind Farm developer, Trianel,  invites tender for development of Borkum West II.

Contractor’s tasks will be: Provision of a vessel for traffic control and monitoring of the construction phase of the Offshore wind farm Borkum West II.

Use of a vessel for traffic safety programme (VSF), including the necessary crew to secure safety of the traffic environment of construction site of Borkum West II wind farm.

Compliance with the conditions of Federal Maritime Agency (BSH), Hydrography and Shipping Directorate North West (WSD).

Programme features: Equipment with 2 functioning radar units and a 2 FM / border-wave radios with GMDSS functionality.

At least one unit must be equipped with “ARPA” function;

Equipped with AIS. The representation of the received AIS signals from side board will be based on an electronic nautical chart in combination with a radar display unit.

About Borkum West II offshore wind:

The project concerns the installation of the first large-size offshore wind farm in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the North Sea. The wind farm area itself (~55 km2) is located about 45 km north of the East Frisian Island Borkum. Borkum is the largest and westernmost of these islands, north of The Netherlands. The planned capacity will be up to 400 MWe, and given the predicted wind resources of around 3,500 equivalent full load hours it would result in a yearly net production of approximately up to 1,300 GWh.
